The 17th anniversary of the demolition of the Babri mosque, repeated the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Sunday that construction of a temple to Lord Ram at the site where the mosque was a "compromise" and the party seeking a solution by negotiation or court verdict.

"The Ram temple is still an obligation for us. BJP would prefer a solution through mutual negotiation or a court decision," party spokesperson Ravi Shankar Prasad told IANS.

BJP also qualified for the results of the Liberhan Commission that investigated the 6th December 1992, the razing."The report itself is unnecessary, unbalanced and a political document," said Prasad.

BJP's remarks came as the various groups organized protest marches in the capital, while a group led a march of celebration to commemorate the anniversary.

Make a protest at Jantar Mantar, near the commercial center of downtown Delhi, members of the All India Babri Masjid Reconstruction Committee (AIBMRC) demanded that the mosque was rebuilt at the disputed site in Ayodhya.

He also presented a memorandum to President Pratibha Patil to put behind bars those named by Liberhan Commission report.Meanwhile, members of the little-known Rashtrawadi Sena marked the day as "Vijay Divas (Victory Day), by holding a march in New Delhi this.

Bharat Lal Sharma, secretary of the group said: "Our party chief Jai Bhagwan Gupta said that this was a historic day which should be celebrated with pomp and show."
