T-Mobile is expected to soon be added to its offer of a new mobile phone operating on Google's Android operating system, II Samsung Behold, now reportedly scheduled for an official opening on 12 November 2009. Samsung and T-Mobile is set to officially announce the phone in the day, although the actual launch of the phone will only take place on 18 November.
Dubbing themselves the power of "multimedia" T-Mobile Android expansive lineup, Samsung's View II has just been confirmed for the rumored November release 18 at T-Mobile (still no word on price, although we hear a predictable $ 200). Whiteboard touchscreen phone has a stylish 3.2-inch AMOLED screen, and puts it to good use with a friendly cleaning work by Samsung, operator in exchange for most (but not all) of its TouchWiz user interface - unfortunately for us that stupid cube menu, made the cut. Below is Android 1.5, and what appears to be a fairly standard processor.
Hardware-wise there's really nothing to complain about on this phone. It is heavy, relatively thin (not iPhone-slim, but very good), with solid materials and face wonderfully tactile buttons. The screen is everything you expect from an AMOLED display, despite phones with high resolution as droid dampen enthusiasm somewhat. Samsung A wonderful addition to the traditional experience with Android is a "real" camera button on the side that would even register half press for focus.
For a person who does not want a physical keyboard, but do not want your phone to feel like a toy (sorry, myTouch) there's plenty to love. But we are more concerned about the software side of things. We are not morally against Samsung TouchWiz added in, but we are afraid of everything that has the potential to curb operating system, and at first glance, it seems, are less sensitive to stock everything Android. We obviously go deeper to see how useful this iteration, but let's just say it on the table: a virtual 3D cube to launch media applications are in no way "intuitive" "useful" or "cool". Well, maybe a little cold, but Samsung seriously enough. Check out our unboxing below.
