At least 10 persons including the mayor, were killed and over 30 wounded when a suicide bomber in a crowded livestock market near the Pakistani border town, less than two weeks after a powerful bomb blast killed over 110 people here.
Policeman Liaquat Ali Khan said that the bombing was directed against Mayor Abdul Malik, who was wounded and was taken to hospital where he died.The attack took place outside a cattle market in the region Adezai, located 25 km south-west of Peshawar, the capital of troubled North West Frontier Province that borders Afghanistan.
At least seven cars were destroyed by the explosion in the area Adezai Matnia.
