Tiger Woods was injured early Friday when he lost control of his truck outside his Florida mansion, and a local police chief, said Wood's wife used a golf club to break the rear window to help it out.
1 The world's number one golfer was treated and released from a hospital in good condition, his spokesman. The Highway Patrol Florida Woods said the car hit a fire hydrant and a tree in the backyard of his neighbor, after he withdrew from his driveway at 2:25.
Windermere Police Chief Daniel Saylor told the AP that officers found the 33-year-old PGA stars lying in the street with his wife, Elin, is closing in on him."Presumably it out and put it on the ground," he said. "I was in and out of consciousness when my kids up there."
Saylor said Woods had perforation of his upper and lower lips, and blood in their mouths, officers treated wood in about 10 minutes until an ambulance arrived. Woods was conscious enough to speak, he said."He was mumbling, but said nothing consistent," said Saylor.
The Florida Highway Patrol said alcohol was not involved, but the accident is still under investigation and charges may be filed.
Woods was alone in his Cadillac in 2009, when out of his driveway of his mansion in Isleworth, a gated community overlooking the sea on the outskirts of Orlando, said the patrol.
Wood's injuries were described as serious, the report from the patrol, but his spokesman Glenn Greenspan, issued a statement that Woods was treated and released.
Missed was that Woods was at the time. Greenspan and agent Mark Steinberg said there would be no comment beyond a brief account of the accident in the Woods website.
Asked at a news conference this evening, if the couple may have been discussed, Saylor said he was unaware of this. The couple, married five years, have two children.
The accident occurred two days after the National Enquirer published a story that Woods had witnessed a New York club night of the hostesses, and recently gathered in Melbourne, where he competed in the Masters Woods in Australia.She denied having an affair with Woods, when contacted by The Associated Press.
"It bothers me that my reputation has been thoroughly criticized in the media," he said during a telephone interview Friday evening. "Everyone is assuming that came out and said so. This is a story that has nothing to do with."
