Sixteen people, including seven children have been killed by suspected Naxals in Amosi Bay village of Khagaria district in Bihar.Two security personnel - a policeman and a home guard - were killed as Maoists attacked a polling station in Bihar’s Gaya district Thursday as voting was underway in the first phase of general elections, police said. Voting has been suspended at the station.According to reports, hands and legs of all 16 victims were bound before being shot dead by Naxals from close range on the night of Thursday evening.
All the victims were allegedly thrown back. Raipur, Oct 1 (IANS) Chhattisgarh Police gunned down two Maoists in a forest area in the troubled Bastar region Thursday evening, police said. The shooting erupted in Nalkathong forest area in Dantewada district, about 450 km south of capital Raipur, when a joint combing team District Force (DF) and Special Police Officers (SPOSE) opened. Police said the cultivation of the land in dispute was the reason for the attack. The Naxalites wanted alleged land grabbing victims."The accused is presumed to be supporters of Naxals. They were trying to land ownership by farmers.
