Today is the 8th anniversary of the attack on World Trade Center.
On 9/11/2001, the World Trade Center was attacked by terrorist group Al-Qaeda upon the United States and the series of attacks like coordinate suicide.
In the attcked, total 2,993 people, including the hijackers, died in the attacks. The overwhelming majority of casualties were civilians, including nationals of over 90 countries.
But today at the moment of silence the ceremony will be similar to previous years, local news channel NY1 television said Friday. Family members and survivors will gather at Zuccotti Park, across the street from the site.
According to NY1, This year, family will be combined with volunteers from the five boroughs of the city to read the names. Volunteers were selected to highlight the fact that September 11 was officially designated as" National Day of Service and memory ".
