NASA is bombarding the Moon on Friday, and you can see his A travers previous begivenhed live online.

The LCROSS (Lunar Crater Observation and Sensing Satellite) was launched in June with the primary aim to search for reserves of frozen water on the moon, literally, by blowing up an area on the south pole of the moon.

A source of water on the Moon could provide hydrogen for fuel, and assist with the establishment of a permanent lunar base.

If attacked once, and the moon was not enough NASA really do it twice. The mission has two phases: the impactor spacecraft and Centaur heavy grazing separately with Centaur create a cloud of dirt that rises above the lunar surface. The Shepherding Spacecraft will fly through the remnants plume, collecting and transmitting data to Earth before impact the lunar surface and creating a cloud of debris seconds.

The first effect is made on 9 October 2009 to U.S. 4:30 PDT (7:30 U.S. EDT, 10:30 AEDT) with the second 4 minutes later.
