Former Tennis Champion Jack Karmer died late Saturday from a soft tissue cancer. Bob Karmer said he did not want to go to the hospital at the end, so the family gathered and he died at home in Los Angels’ were 88.
Jack Karmer was tennis champion in 1940s and '50s.He also won seven other Grand Slam titles in doubles. He was the promoter of the sport for more 60 years. Karmer was the no.1 player in the world for much of the 1940s.
Kramer was a founder of the Association of Tennis Professionals and was its first Executive Director. In 1973, he led a boycott of Wimbledon ATP principles that helped the players get more control over their own career in the national tennis federation. He later formed a part of the international men's professional tennis Council governing board world.
Since the 1950s, Kramer was very involved in the Los Angeles Tennis Open, a tournament that serves as President and Director until the judge in the game. For three years during the 1980s, the tournament was known as Jack Kramer Open.
The last tennis match he saw in person was on July 27, when he went to UCLA for the tournament.
"He was a big fan of Roger Federer, who has played with a single two-handed backhand, like him, and a classic game," said Bob Kramer. "Over the years, he was a big fan of Pete Sampras, and thought Marit Safin was one of the most underrated players.

Reisterstown Festival 2009 was started on Saturday at 9 o'clock and grounds opened at 11.30. This festival was for two days Saturday and Sunday.
During that Festival, the visitor was seen new activities. Some of that were Festival Scuttle, Pie Contest, Festival Raffle, Musical Entertainment, Miss Maryaland, Baltimore County History, Kids Activities and Delmarva Bikini Team.
On this year, the festival has featured Billy Thomson Band, Fools, Horses, and the Kelly Bell Band. There has been lots of food, fun and friends at the festival. There was no admission and everyone is invited.

Norman Borlaug was died of cancer in Dallas on Saturday,who was the genial scientist-pacifist.He was 95.
Borlaug began at Texas a & M in 1984, after working as a scientist in a program that introduced scientific methods of preventing famine in Mexico according to the university.
He was known as the father of the "green revolution" that transformed agriculture across varieties of high yield crops and other innovations, contributing to more than double global food production between 1960 and 1990. Many credit experts from the green revolution to prevent world hunger during the second half of the 20th century and perhaps save the lives of 1 billion.
In 1963, Borlaug was named head of the newly established International maize and wheat Improvement Center in Mexico, where he trained thousands of young scientists. Borlaug retired as rector in 1979 and returned to university teaching, first at Cornell University and Texas A & M, which gave him an honorary doctorate in December 2007.
He was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 1977 and the Congressional Gold Medal in 2006, according to the website of the university.
