Solheim Cup is three days of competition for female professional golfers, pitting the 12 best players born in the United States against the 12 best players born in Europe. How it is scheduled : Three days of practice and special events precedes the three-day matchplay competition based on a points system with 28 total points available. The competition includes eight foursome matches, eight four-ball matches and 12 singles played on the final day.

The European team was selected to take the five best players in the Solheim Cup LEAVE positions, followed by the four European members of the LET Rolex Women's World Ranking on the agreed date, and is not qualified through the Solheim Cup captain Three options positions. Points rating for the European team was awarded a weekly top-10 finishers at official events LEAVE.
