Army Archerd,who is known for his column on Hollywood doings for Daily Varity publication, has died.He served greeter interviewer at academy awards more than 50 years.

Archers first studio came in 1940 when he worked in paramount mailroom while student at university of California. After service in Navy, he came Los Angeles and started his career news reporter on daily Hollywood column for The Associated Press.

He was chosen to write Daily Varity’s "just for variety" in 1953, which was required for Hollywood’s mover and shakers. He becomes first journalists to be honored with a star on the Hollywood walk of fame.

His marriage to Joan archerd, which produced Amanda and Evan, two children. Joan and army divorce after 25 years happy marriage life. He married his second wife Selma in 1970.

Selma said that he was the love of my life.Archerd survived by his son and two stepsons.

Air India, a National carrier, said on Tuesday that it had both crew and aircraft on stand a by for immediate deployment should Jet Airways be forced to cancel more flights in the coming days.

Jitendra Bhargava, an air India spokesperson said that they are in talks with the government and jet airways officials and also said that in the event of need of operate special flights to help stranded passengers, they do so for which they have kept on stand by aircraft and crew.

As per Bhargava, the carrier had already been accommodating as many stranded passengers as possible in not only on the existing domestic routes but also overseas flights that transit through Indian cities.

After the pilots of Jet Airways went on mass sick leave, around 20000 passengers were stranded and it leadings to cancellation of nearly 200 flights domestic and international both.
