A purple bikini-clad Britney Spears continued her poolside fashion show Aug. 17, displaying her slammin' bikini bod at the Ritz Carlton Hotel in Marina Del Rey, Calif. Spears, 27, is in New York Tuesday to appear on the Late Show with David Letterman. Britney, who's currently in the middle of her grueling worldwide Circus tour, kicks off the North American leg Aug. 20. In January 2008, Spears was twice forcibly hospitalized under psychiatric lockdown after having had several nervous breakdowns stemming from her divorce, custody battles and alleged drug addiction. Last month, 23-year-old actress Mischa Barton suffered a similar fate, when she too was involuntarily hospitalized after reportedly displaying erratic and suicidal behavior.
